MORE USES FOR DOOR / WINDOW HEADERS

Above: Here are some pictures that I took using Header # 5 placed above the window on the sill rather than above the window on the frame itself. A striking effect and nice way to dress up and add a touch of flair to the look of a house.....click pictures for larger view.

Below: I want to thank Isabel In Florida for sending in the below picture of the house project we worked on. she use Header #6 in a one inch thickness to place in her porchway openings. A beautiful effect. The Gable treatment we produced also. SEE GABLES PAGE

- OPTIONS -

Redwood Support Bars for Door / Window Headers

Most commonly customers wish to use the thicker Headers to hang upside down to use on a porch between their porch brackets...a "Bracket Buddy". We bevel a strip of Redwood and glue and nail the header then use caulking to seal the header to the strip. Support strips are 1 3/4 inches wide and add approximately two - three inches to the overall length of the piece. The ends are then pre drilled with a counter sunk hole for easy mounting.    Cost is $8 per support strip.

I also receive calls from customers wanting a Header in a 1/4 inch thickness for use with a small recess. No problem.
